The short version

The site is free. There is nothing to buy here and nothing to cancel.
You own the coloring you create. We do not take it from you.
We own the line art you are coloring. Color it, enjoy it, hang it on your wall.
If you send art to the gallery, you give us permission to show it. You can revoke that any time.
Be kind, do not upload anything harmful, and do not pretend someone else's art is yours.

The rest is the detail.

1. Agreement

These terms are between you and Alisa Roberts, a sole proprietor in the State of Indiana, United States, doing business as Finish-Me™ ("we", "us"). They govern your use of finishme.art. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. What this site is

finishme.art is the companion website to the Finish-Me™ coloring book series. It tells you about the books, links you to retailers who sell them, and shows a gallery of finished pages that readers have sent in.

The site is provided free of charge. We do not sell anything directly. When you buy a book, you buy it from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or another retailer, under their terms, with their payment processing, returns, and shipping. We are not a party to that transaction and cannot resolve problems with it.

3. Who can use it

Anyone can read this site and enjoy the books. There is no age limit on being a Finish-Me™ reader, and there never will be.

Two things are restricted to adults aged 18 or over:

Sending us feedback through the form
Submitting artwork to the gallery

If a child colored a page and wants it in the gallery, a parent or guardian sends it in for them. This exists to protect children, not to exclude them.

4. Intellectual property: who owns what

This is the most important section on the page, so it is written as plainly as we can manage.

What we own

The Finish-Me™ name and logo, the artwork in the books, the line art and "artistic starters" you color, the text on this website, and the design of this website are the property of Alisa Roberts and are protected by copyright and trademark law.

What you own

You own the coloring you create. The colors you chose, the marks you made, the additions you drew: those are yours. We claim no ownership of your creative contribution.

Because a finished page combines our line art with your coloring, it is legally a derivative work. So that this is not a trap, here is the license we give you, freely and permanently:

You may color our pages, keep them, frame them, gift them, and post photographs of them on social media or anywhere else you like, including with your own watermark or name.

You may not reproduce or sell our uncolored line art on its own, scan the book to distribute it, or mass-produce merchandise from our artwork. Coloring a page does not transfer our copyright in the underlying drawing.

If you want to sell a piece you colored, email us. We are a small operation and we are inclined to say yes.

If you submit to the gallery

When you send us artwork for the gallery, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display it on this website and on the Finish-Me™ social media accounts, and to use it in our own marketing of the Finish-Me™ series.

The limits on that license matter:

It is non-exclusive. You keep every right you had. You can post it anywhere else, sell prints of it, do whatever you want with it.
It is revocable. Email us and we take it down. We will confirm when it is gone.
It does not transfer ownership. We never become the owner of your work.
We will not license your artwork to any third party.

By submitting, you confirm that the coloring is your own work (or your child's, if you are their parent or guardian), and that you have the right to give us this permission.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use this site to:

Submit anything sexual, violent, hateful, harassing, or illegal
Submit anything that identifies a child, including faces, names, or locations
Submit artwork that is not yours, or that infringes someone else's copyright
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site or any system connected to it
Scrape, mirror, or bulk-download the site's artwork
Impersonate anyone, including us

We may decline or remove any submission for any reason, and we do not owe you an explanation, though we will usually give one.

6. Moderation

Every gallery submission is reviewed by a person before it appears publicly. Nothing is auto-published. We would rather be slow than get this wrong.

7. Copyright complaints (DMCA)

If you believe material on this site infringes your copyright, email support@finishme.art with the subject line DMCA and include:

Identification of the copyrighted work you say was infringed
The exact URL of the material on this site
Your name, address, telephone number, and email address
A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized
A statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for them
Your physical or electronic signature

We remove properly noticed material promptly. If your work was removed and you believe that was a mistake, send a counter-notice to the same address.

8. Third-party links

This site links to Amazon, Barnes & Noble, TikTok, and Instagram. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their terms, or their privacy practices. Once you click through, you are on their turf.

9. No warranty

The site is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise it will always be online, error-free, or free of interruption. We make no warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Alisa Roberts is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of this site.

Our total liability to you for any claim relating to this website is capped at one hundred United States dollars (US $100). This site is free, and that cap reflects it.

Some states do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything the law does not permit us to limit.

11. Indemnification

If you break these terms or the law and that causes a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and damages that result, including legal fees. In practice this section exists for people who submit artwork they had no right to submit.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.

Talk to us first. If something goes wrong, email support@finishme.art and give us 30 days to fix it. Nearly everything ends here.

If it does not, the courts of the State of Indiana have exclusive jurisdiction, and you and we both consent to venue there. You may always bring a claim in small claims court instead, in your own county, and we will not object to that.

We are not requiring you to give up your right to a jury or to join a class action. A free coloring book website does not need to strip you of those rights to function.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will update the date at the top and post a notice on the home page for at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the change.

14. Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use this site, and we work toward WCAG 2.1 AA. We are not perfect and we know it. If something on this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, email support@finishme.art and tell us what happened. We will fix it and we will thank you.
